I use the palette knife to paint my art, this technique is called impasto. It is rich in texture, I enjoy applying thick layers of oil paint to the canvas using a palette knife. The thick layers build on the canvas giving a textured feel to the touch and to view.
The oil colours are rich red, deep cobalt blue, delicate pinks, creams, white and golden hues.
Using oils gives a vibrancy to the painting.
